The Omega J8006 Nutrition Center is a masticating style juicer. Sometimes referred to as a low speed juicer, the Nutrition Center processes at 80rpm, whereas most other juicers process at a speed of 1,650 to 15,000rpm. The low speed protects and maintains healthy enzymes, prevents oxidation and allows juice to be stored up to 72 hours without degradation. The GE Ultem Auger is 8x stronger than most other plastics and the powerful gear reduction is equivalent to a 2HP Motor. The dual stage juice processing system extracts the maximum amount of juice from fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, even wheatgrass! You can also use the nutrition center to turn nuts into nut butters (an all-natural peanut butter), make baby food from natural, fresh ingredients, whip up soy milk, extrude pasta, grind coffee and spices, and mince herbs and garlic. Make delicious and nutritious drinks and snacks that everyone will love. Measuring 7in wide, 15.5in deep and 8.5in tall.Usage of more frozen foods (fruit, ice cream, etc.) than liquids leads to the foods sticking to the sides of blender jars or the mixture becomes stiff (frozen) and will not flow. 4 pounds ripe tomatoes (about 14 plum tomatoes). 1 medium yellow onion, chopped. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional). 6 large fresh basil leaves, chopped or shredded. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Fill a large bowl with ice water and have it nearby. Use a paring knife to cut an X across bottom of each tomato. Carefully set tomatoes into boiling water, cook for 60 seconds, then use a slotted spoon to transfer them to ice water. Place tomatoes on a cutting board with a groove to catch juices, then dump out ice water, reserving bowl. Peel off tomato skins, then roughly chop tomatoes, discarding stem and any white core. Transfer chopped tomatoes and any juices on the board to bowl. Return large pot to medium heat. Add oil, onion and garlic and sauté, not allowing garlic and onions to get more than lightly golden, for about 5 minutes, or until soft. Stir in red pepper flakes, if using, and season with salt and pepper. Add tomatoes and all of their juices, then increase heat to high. Bring to a rapid simmer, add sugar, then cook for about 10 minutes, or until tomatoes start to break down. Use a slotted spoon to transfer about half of the tomatoes to a bowl. Continue to simmer the rest of tomato mixture for another 15 minutes until it thickens further and some of the liquid evaporates. Stir reserved tomato mixture back into the pot along with thyme and basil. While tomato sauce finishes cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions. For a chunky sauce, you can simply drain pasta, return it to the pot, and toss with sauce to combine. Alternatively, use an immersion blender to purée sauce as smooth as you’d like right in its pot, or carefully transfer it to a food processor or blender and pulse or purée mixture — in batches if necessary — until it reaches desired consistency. The results was a slightly chunky marinade, probably because there wasn't enough to fill the blades, confirming my theory that good blenders have conical bottoms to cause the contents to collect close to the blade. The Amazing Chef performed quite well with the cauliflower puree that filled the capsule to three quarters full. We even had a few cubes of ice in the avocado smoothie and it managed to crush it all, no choking or sputtering. :) The cups/capsules are polycarbonte, I think. Microwave and dishwasher safe. My very own recipe, extremly delicious! I was really impressed by what it came out! It's chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside, with a wonderful lemon-pecan flavor. Wow, I love it! Ok, dear friends, here's the recipe: RAW PECAN COOKIES (for ~ 13 pieces) - 1 C pecans, raw and unsoaked - 1 pinch of sea salt - 1 C almond flour or butter - 1/2 C coconut flakes - 1/2 C maple syrup - 1 tsp pure vanilla essence - 1 Tbs lemon juice Place the pecans and the salt in a food processor fitted with the "S" blade and process until finely ground. Add the rest of the ingredients and process to incorporate. Using a tablespoon, form equal sized balls and flatten them using a glass. Dehydrate at 115 F until they are firm on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside.
