If it's not in the Yellow Pages. then it can probably be found in Terry Trucco's Where to Find It. Fully updated, this collection from Terry Trucco's popular New York Times column shows you how to locate hard to find, but often invaluable, goods and services throughout the country. The author has uncovered superbly skilled craftspeople who can repair, resuscitate or replace anything, from a broken zipper on a sleeping bag to an antique teapot's shattered spout. You'll also find out how to contact highly creative artists who can solve the most pressing - and most unusual - of household problems. Organized alphabetically by subject, this book provides all the information you need if you want to find someone who can: build a custom-made bed for your dog; regrind a damaged binocular lens; clean, restore and repair an antique clock, an heirloom quilt or a cherished piece of jewelry; paint a stunning ceiling or make an ordinary wood floor look like marble; locate discontinued china, flatware or glass patterns; and sharpen a knife, alter a wedding dress or childproof a home. In an era of mass production and diminishing craftsmanship, it's getting harder to find those who deal in off-the-beaten-track goods and services, Terry Trucco's Where to Find It tells you where they are and how to contact them. Informative, fascinating and fun, it's the essential guide to the people and businesses who make, fix and sell just about everything.
The Sherrill Road side of the house faces one of the Sherrill’s sports fields. “I remember many times watching my daughter play sports at that park and seeing that eyesore of a structure as its background. I knew I had to do something to restore the original character or face someone else buying the structure and erecting something that would not complement the neighborhood. Zumpano believes the original structure that’s been added onto over the years, was constructed sometime between 1820 and 1840. The solid construction techniques are part of the reason that the house has remained so structurally sound. “One of the interesting discoveries was the horsehair within the plaster walls,” he said. During the early 1800s wall plasterers typically mixed horsehair with plaster to form a smooth, strong surface that resists cracks. Zumpano’s been told it’s the oldest house in Sherrill. Originally built as a farmhouse, the dwelling is believed to have played a role in no fewer than three historic periods of the Community including the very beginning of the association, just after the breakup of the Community and during the... The magnitude of the two-year construction project and the “surprises” the old house presented along the way won’t allow for that. However, Zumpano is happy with what he’s accomplished. It has been cleaned up. Kids playing in the park will have a nice house to look at. The new owners can sit on the front porch and watch the ball games and the neighborhood no longer has an eyesore to contend with,” he said. Source: www.oneidadispatch.com

As a frequent flier, I have encountered a pastry that resembled a dog's chew, ham that belonged in a plastic doll's kitchen set, and salty stews that made Dead Sea water seem mild in comparison. What is more, airlines face competition: airport food
In the same way that air brushed supermodels make some of us feel insecure via the pages of glossy magazines, showhouse photo shoots and atmospheric architectural imagery can cause the most well adjusted to have qualms about our present-from-Killarney

An eclectic selection of seven short stories involving, as the title of the book suggests, God, Aliens, Death or Teapots. Oh, and there's one about dogs as well…then again, come to think of it, two of them don't really have God, aliens, death or teapots in them at all. They're more about space…. So a more apt title for this book could well be God, Aliens, Death, Dogs, General Space Stuff & Teapots. Yeah, that just about sums it up (though it isn't quite as catchy).
A fitting tribute to John B. Keane, for decades Ireland's favorite storyteller, this winning short story collection typifies the late author's folkloric imagination and storytelling arts. These are congenial tales, too, as this literary legend views the foibles and fallibilities of Irish country folk with abundant compassion as well as a shrewd, sometimes sardonic eye. Add to that Keane's glorious sense of fun and roguery that will make readers relish all the more how and why, in "Fred Rimble," Jim Conlon kills the best friend he ever had. Or how Willie Ramley determines that his future wife will be "Guaranteed Pure." Or how, to tragic as well as comic effect, a gasp, garlic, and gossip undo Denny Bruder in "The Hanging." In all, Keane uncovers the folly in the romantic pangs, exalted...
