Artist Susan Williams-Ellis found her inspiration for Botanic Garden from antique botanical Illustration plates. The mix and match collection currently features around 30 individual floral and butterfly designs with the signature leaf motif border. This colorful dinnerware collection is complimented with a large range of bakeware, serving items and giftware. Botanic Garden has decorated homes all over the world for over 30 years. Start your collection today and watch your Botanic Garden grow. The teapot works beautifully with the traditional teacups and saucers, and romantic shaped sugar and creamer.
There could be no better vessel for a reviving cup of tea than this traditionally shaped teapot from the Botanic Garden collection. The glazed earthenware keeps tea hot, and the generous capacity allows good water circulation to ensure a perfect brew. The pot's curved sides are an ideal canvas for the bold wraparound floral design, and the domed lid is painted with a green leaf border and a cluster of butterflies.
More than 30 years ago the founder of Portmeirion Potteries was inspired by 19th-century botanical illustrations to create the Botanic Garden collection of tableware and cookware. Each piece is crafted from fine glazed earthenware and features highly detailed floral designs complemented by a simple border of green leaves to give the collection a coordinated look. Botanic Garden tableware is safe in the freezer, microwave, oven, and dishwasher, but it should not be subjected to sudden changes in temperature. --Simon Leake

From gift shop designs for the holiday village in north Wales, Portmeirion pottery evolved to a global business, thanks in large part to the design flair of Susan Williams-Ellis. She captured the spirit of the kitchens and dining rooms of the 1960s and '70s with bold new shapes and designs that could be both modern and traditional. 'Botanic Garden', introduced in 1972, used old flower prints with contemporary shapes and high quality manufacture, and has remained in production for 40 years. In the 21st century the company has moved vigorously forwards with a new generation of designers and a marketplace in over 50 countries.
